Palmdale Road Extension
Palmdale Group
Client
Central Coast, NSW
Location
Located on the Central Coast of NSW, Palmdale Lawn Cemetery and Memorial Park required an extension involving the construction of 3000m² of road pavement and a large car park due to high demand.
The Challenge
To construct 3000m2 of road pavement on a site that had large areas of uncontrolled fill that was not suitable for road construction. As well as protecting the root systems of existing trees during the construction of the road pavement.
The Solution
The project team, geotechnical engineers and the client worked collaboratively to provide a practical, sustainable and cost-effective solution to construct the road pavement without removing and disposing of the fill. A Ballast layer was used as both a bridging and drainage layer to form a strong foundation for the road pavement.
